When I got started in Internet marketing back when the Internet was in its infancy, I used to ask myself IF all of the so-called Internet gurus were making millions, why they would want to teach other people their techniques. The reason they are willing to stop marketing products and teach you how to do it is that in essence they are cloning themselves with each new person they teach and they make money on everything you sell while at the same time teaching you how to clone yourself too. How? They do it by introducing you to what is known on the Internet as "affiliate and network marketing", by selling you the necessary tools and techniques, and providing tons of products for you to sell...and with everything they get a piece of the action. And they get you to bite by telling you how much money they made selling "super widgets" or some other product.
Now you know the truth but please don't get me wrong; I am not saying they are doing anything devious or misleading. I know how much money I make as an Internet marketer but I really don't think it's ethical to use it as a sales tool since you are not me, nor may you work as long as I do or be as tenacious in this business as I am. With that said, like me, many of the really good Internet marketers paid a fortune in the school of hard knocks to acquire their knowledge and techniques and by teaching you, they are working smarter rather than harder. But it would be nice if they were more upfront about it and just came out and said it. After all, part of you becoming successful is duplicating what they do including training others to sell for you. It's nice to get past the hype like "How I made $130,611.32 in just one week selling an amazing diet program that is guaranteed to work or your money back!" and just get to the facts. The other evening I listened to a teleseminar where these three guys spent 90-minutes patting themselves on the back and telling us about their new BMWs. Please spare me! Just spit it out and let the people decide. So here it is...
